The Retina screen found on today’s MacBook and MacBook Pro model Macs is a super high resolution display that provides crisp contrast and remarkable colors. Since the Retina Display replaced the old “high-res anti-glare” display, they had to invent a way of reducing as much glare as possible. Apple solved this quandary by coating the Retina Display’s with a new anti-glare coating technology. Unfortunately some users have encountered a problem where the anti-glare coating would effectively flake or peel off the screen, even when the display was cared for properly. Thankfully Apple, being a premium customer service company, has launched a replacement program for customers who’s computers are affected by this issue.

Computers have become the most common way to share and consume information. Whether on social media, news websites, or email we are surrounded with links vying for our attention. In this article I’m going to review internet security and how to tell if a website is legitimate or not.  Please note that while I will give some specific examples not every case is the same and what you see or experience may not match exactly. Often while browsing news feeds like Yahoo, or Facebook you will come across links to external webpages. Sometimes these are shared by friends or provided by the website creator, but some of them are ads placed by the highest bidder.

At its highly anticipated product announcement event at the new Steve Jobs Theater, Apple didn’t disappoint. The big news was the revolutionary iPhone X, which eliminates the Home button and unlocks by recognizing your face. Apple also announced the evolutionary iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus; a cellular-capable Apple Watch Series 3; and the Apple TV 4K, which supports 4K HDR video. The company said that iOS 11 and watchOS 4 would ship on September 19th, and later noted that macOS 10.13 High Sierra would arrive September 25th.

On June 11, 2015 Apple Inc. announced a major reorganization of its independent Apple authorized sales channel. The top tier of its resellers would be members of the Apple Premier Partner program, a group of companies which have demonstrated consistent expertise in the sale, service, and support of Apple products. Entry into this program would only be granted after the applicant was subjected to a variety of qualifications and scrutiny by the technology giant. These included minimums on square footage, testing and certification, scores on “secret shop” visits, adherence to Apple’s look and feel standards and a variety of financial metrics. In earning its place as an Apple Premier Partner, Visionary Computer became one of only fifty companies in the entire country to reach this level and the only Apple Premier Partner located in the state of Connecticut.

Here at Visionary Computer, we pride ourselves on really going the extra mile for our customers. Recently we had a case where we had to go even further. One of our customers had suffered a building fire. Thankfully no one was hurt but their computers were all completely destroyed. One computer in particular was business critical. It was an ancient circa 1999 G3 Blue and White and, as you may be able to see from the photos, it was melted closed and severely burned. The customer brought it to us without much hope for the data.
