Back up now before it’s too late

Every Mac has built-in software called Time Machine that can oversee making full, regular backups of everything on your computer. All you need is an inexpensive external drive. Once you tell Time Machine to backup, it will manage itself, only alerting you if there is a problem.

Why it’s a gift - There is an old saying that there are two types of computer users: those who have experienced data loss and those who will. Of all the computer trauma we see, the most frantic customers are the ones who have data in peril. Think of all the things you store on your computer - all your photos, documents, addresses, appointments, music, videos and more - now imagine it all gone. Then there is all the time you spent installing software, setting preferences, adding accounts and passwords. There simply is no substitute for a full, Time Machine backup. Everyone needs one, because data recovery is expensive, time-consuming, and tricky! We partner with DriveSavers, the world leader in data recovery; if we can’t get it, we have them in our back pocket and they can help. However, they charge $2000+ for a recovery, and that’s not including the cost of us fixing your computer! I don’t like to capitalize on my customers misfortune; I’d much rather sell you an $89 backup drive while your Mac is healthy and you can be protected for life.

Also, your iOS devices need backup too! For that we do strongly recommend the built-in backup function of iCloud on your iPhone and iPad. iCloud backup is terrific for iOS, but it isn’t sufficient for your Mac. If you want off-site cloud backup, our partner for that is Backblaze. It’s what we use here at the office and also at home. It’s an excellent service, but we STILL recommend Time Machine above all.
