Get your free service before the clock expires…

Apple makes some incredible products. And, being the upfront, honest, and reputable company they are, in those rare cases when there is an unexpected issue they have a system in place to provide customers with service. Apple often calls these events “Apple Service Programs” and there are a number of affected devices. Below is a link to the complete list Apple has on their public facing site. As an Apple Authorized Service Provider, Visionary Computer is able to provide service for all of the current Service Programs. 

The issue I want to make customers aware of is that often these Service Programs do have an expiration date. It’s typically very generous, but there is a date nonetheless. It can be very frustrating to have a customer come in for a repair of a known issue but unable to get it covered because their device has “aged out” of eligibility. For example, the Keyboard Service Program for MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro is good for up to four years from the original sale date, but many of the affected computers are now older than that! If you have an issue with your Apple device which is covered, be sure to get your item in for your free service before your eligibility window closes. Feel free to email us with questions, just be sure to include your serial number so we can look up your device and purchase history (whether or not you bought it from us). Covid Update

Hard to believe we’ve all been living in these strange Covid times for years now. As I was drafting this newsletter, it just seemed odd not to have some mention of Covid and how it impacts us and our ability to deliver the technology and service you want and need. I’ve been very pleased to see cases and hospitalizations drop way down. I hope, for all our sakes, that the trend continues and we can put Covid firmly in the rear view mirror soon. Just as the CDC has relaxed its masking guidelines, so has Visionary: masks are once again optional in the store. We have no current restrictions on our services: we’re offering face to face training, on-sites, and of course our showroom is completely open with all products out on display. The birds are singing, the flowers are starting to grow, and spring is upon us. We look forward to another beautiful Connecticut summer and another year of serving our beloved customers!

Sadly, the new data reveals a disturbing trend: cases are higher than they’ve ever been - across the country and right here in our region as well. Deaths and hospitalizations are rising at an alarming rate. The bottom line is, our complacency as a society is costing us dearly. Here at Visionary Computer, we see it daily: from customers not maintaining adequate social distance to our own desires to provide great service overruling our better judgment and need for safety. In the face of this next wave of illness, we are taking a step backwards in our policies, and wanted to communicate clearly to our customers.
