Recently, we’ve had a massive increase in the number of customers using legacy Internet Service Provider (ISP) email systems that are having increasing difficulty getting new mail, sending mail, or moving their account to a new computer or modern OS. If you have an email address ending in @snet.net, @sbcglobal.net, or several others which no longer exist, you are in jeopardy of losing access to that email and we strongly recommend switching to an email system not tied to your ISP such as Gmail or iCloud.

Apple recently released a statement regarding iPhone batteries and performance. In that statement, they offered reduced pricing on battery replacements for qualifying iPhones during the year 2018. Without getting into specifics, Apple’s pricing is well below our costs. Apple can afford to subsidize the battery replacement in their own stores, unfortunately we can not. We are however reducing our iPhone battery replacement pricing down to just $79.95 including parts, labor, and testing.

Visionary Computer is happy to bring back our free, open to the public, Technology Workshops, now with four different course offerings. Each workshop has about 40 minutes of presentation followed by about 20 minutes of Q&A. The workshops take place on Saturday mornings at 9am promptly in our beautiful new showroom. We encourage customers to bring their own laptop (Mac workshops) or iOS device (iOS workshops) to ensure you get the most out of your own Apple products. A limited number of Visionary Computer owned Macs will be available on a first come first served bases if you don’t have your own.

Those of you who know me know that I’m not the kind of person who pushes upgrading unless there is very good reason. I believe that every device has a life cycle and that so long as your device is still technologically capable, there is no reason to replace it. The Retina screen found on today’s MacBook and MacBook Pro model Macs is a super high resolution display that provides crisp contrast and remarkable colors. Since the Retina Display replaced the old “high-res anti-glare” display, they had to invent a way of reducing as much glare as possible. Apple solved this quandary by coating the Retina Display’s with a new anti-glare coating technology. Unfortunately some users have encountered a problem where the anti-glare coating would effectively flake or peel off the screen, even when the display was cared for properly. Thankfully Apple, being a premium customer service company, has launched a replacement program for customers who’s computers are affected by this issue.
